Bishop James William Dudley (Jimmy Dee) was born on September 27, 1934 to the late Louise D. Campbell in Fayetteville, N.C.  He departed his life on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Bronx, N. Y.  His years of education were attained in the Cumberland County Schools.  He graduated from E.E. Smith High School in 1956.  He was very active in Drama and Chorus, shortly after graduation he moved to Bronx, New York to pursue a career in music.

Bishop Dudley met and married Nettie Ellerbe on February 14, 1968. To this union God blessed them with one daughter.  He taught his daughters with the importance of respect, integrity and love of God.

He served as a Missionary, Evangelist, Reverend and Bishop.  Although he sang different genres of music, he was always drawn back to Gospel Music.  He was a member of the American Gospel Quartet, He attended the Gospel Music Workshop of America and the Grand Ole Opry.  Bishop Dudley and Sister Rachel Folk sang together for 34 years and recorded 13 Records/CD's.

Surviving to forever emulate his life are his wife of forty-nine years, Nettir Dudley of Bronx, New York, Two daughters: Jeniece Dudley (John) of Destin, Florida  Kenda Dudley of Bronx New York, four grandchildren:  Brandon Rhine, Jawad Shakir, Jamilah Shakir, DeQuon Rhine, three great-grandchildren: Cameron Freeman, Jordan Rhine, Teyana Rhine, one sister Bertha Dudley,  Washington, D.C. and a host of relatives, special friends and goddaughter Jasmine Love.
